Glulam Gateposts
All our glulam gateposts are sold with the Ellpro Pro-Post warranty. The manufacturing process allows for treatment of the timber throughout. This involves kiln drying the lamella to 12% moisture content. The seperate lamella are then pressure treated and kiln dried back to 12%. Now the lamella are bonded together ready to be cut to size, planed and ease edged. If required, a four way weather top is milled before the final pressure treatment. The stages of treatment ensure the highest level of protection through the entire gatepost section.

The nature of laminated timber provides an inherently stable product. The lamella are bonded together using MUF Type-1 adhesive, tested in accordance with EN 301 with the grain running parallel along the longitudinal. This multiple layer method considerably reduces the passibility of twisting and movement in the post when compared with the equivalently sized section in a single sawn piece of timber.
Gate posts are an obvious product for glulam and the sizes available are not restricted to the usual dimensions and log lengths, so we can go way beyond 3.6m. Anything up to 24.0m is possible with widths up to 270mm x 270mm. As with all timber products, any adjustments required on site, whether it's notching or fitting hardware is very straightforward. If however customers have requirements for any pre-machined additions, time can be saved by having the manufacturer take care of that before the timber leaves the mill.
