Glulam Gate Posts Explained
Glue laminated timber has endless uses and is now commonly found in domestic and commercial projects from small extensions to large scale developments. It’s easy to work, handle and mount fixings to, with the warm aesthetic and charm you only find with natural wood. But the real advantages of glue laminated timber is that because it is an engineered product, it can be produced in a broader range of sizes. Much longer and much larger than single pieces of timber and certainly more stable, meaning it is less susceptible to twisting and cracking which naturally occur in timber. The properties of glue laminated timber make it ideal for use as quality gate posts. The lack of movement in the timber means gates stay aligned and the posts look better for longer. Glulam posts are produced with separate lamella, with each of the lamella being dried and pressure treated. Once the lamella is glued together the post is pressure treated again. This process ensures thorough treatment throughout the post and allows us to sell the finished product with our 15 year Pro-Post warranty.
