Ellpro Timber is aware of the importance of supplying firewood which is Ready to Burn
At Ellpro Timber we have always known the importance of supplying customers with the right fuel, so it made sense to join the Woodsure scheme. By becoming certified members, our customers can be assured that our firewood has been independently verified as being suitable for use in woodburners under new government rules.
Air quality and wood fuel has become a hot topic and stove owners are being asked to think about the impact of burning poor quality firewood has on the environment. A stove is only as good as the wood it burns and so the Ready to Burn stamp of approval will reassure those who purchase firewood with its logo that they are dry enough and immediately ready to burn.
Our first audit was carried out just recently and the average moisture content of the random samples was found to be well under the required 20% limit. Continued certification requires that we are audited peridically to ensure not only moisure content but that our firewood is from sustainable sources and even that the logs are cut to the correct size.
